Hotel Room Drawings

This series of hotel room drawings captures the point-of-view of a single traveler, who spends day after day (and night after night), gazing at the generic surroundings of his hotel room. A longer, closer look details elements the eye usually briefs. 

A small boutique hotel room in Paris is the subject of one group of drawings. This room is designed in an "Euro eclectic" style, memorable in a predictable way.  

A hotel room in Bilbao is the subject of another group of  drawings. This room is designed to go unnoticed, with bland 1990's elements: square furniture, beige floral patterns, and durable line (or dot?) rug patterns. Everything is engineered  to be forgotten.   The drawings absorb the viewer into this dull place, reflecting beauty, and melancholy.
